One-Day M School
Get ready to focus on the same skill sets that professional drivers
work on every day. You'll learn how to optimize the M cars' attitude to
the conditions and road at hand. You'll become a smoother driver. And
your reaction times will decrease. It's the result of your skills
becoming more in tune with the attributes of the car you'll be driving.
After all, power is nothing if you can't handle it.
"Both experiences I have had at the BMW Performance Center have exceeded my expectations, and my friends will tell you that I set the bar high. The Performance Center is really on target with providing an experience that matches the BMW enthusiasts' excitement and passion for the BMW brand." - TS
We'll hone in on finesse, quick reflexes and eye coordination through a variety of exercises on our slalom course, autocross and wet skid pad. With more horsepower and sharper chassis dynamics at your controls, you need to be at the top of your game. We'll make sure you get there. All participants must hold a valid driver's license.
Nathan Russell
Nathan was born February 10, 1991, in Curwensville, PA. The son of Dan and Cynthia Russell, he falls in line between his younger brother, Jordan and older sister, Megan. From a very young age Nathan has always been his happiest when he is driving; driving anything that is that he can get his hands on. He is described as a quiet, compassionate young man who is very motivated and strives to do his best at everything he sets out to accomplish.
As a small boy Nathan was introduced, through his grandfather, to Michael Fox. Michael soon became not only Nathan's friend but his mentor and hero as well. It was through Michael and his family that Nathan was first exposed to the world of racing. At the age of 8 he got his first kart and soon after his parents built an oval track in the back yard; it was then that they realized Nathan was a natural behind the wheel and truly had a gift for racing. In 2002, Nathan won the Horstman Gold Cup National Karting Championship. In 2002 and 2003, he won back to back WKA Grand National Championships. He continued racing and progressed to street stocks and super late models. During his high school years Nathan took some time off from racing to participate and letter in football as well as wrestling. He could still be found, however, on the track at every possible opportunity.
In 2006, upon the loss of his dear friend, Michael Fox, Nathan made the decision to honor his friend by returning to racing full-time. Nathan carries with him, not only the knowledge of racing he learned from Michael, but the willingness to help any other driver and never turn his back on someone in need. He continues to feel the thrill and the rush every time he gets into his car and will tell you that he lives and breathes racing. Nathan raced part-time NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model series at Motordrome Speedway in 2010. Recently he had top-five and top-ten finishes at New Smyrna Speedway, FL World Series of Stock Car Racing and a seventh place finish in the first ever USAR Pro Cup Stock Car race also at New Smyrna.
Nathan is the proud recipient of the first annual Michael Fox Remembrance Foundation Racing School Scholarship. The MFR Foundation was founded by Michael's family in his memory to provide opportunities to young kart drivers who want to achieve excellence in pursuing their goals. As the recipient of this award Nathan was provided the amazing opportunity of attending the prestigious BMW Performance Driving School in Greer, SC. He plans to use the knowledge and skills he was taught as he continues his racing career.
"When I am behind the wheel of my racecar I am in my own world...my car is my office". - Nathan Russell
